Almost everything blogged and over-blogged about the VMAs has been obvious and mass market. I mean really, how many bloggers does it take to screw in a lightbulb, or someone's career? There's the stuff that happens on the stage during the broadcast and at the clubs where people wave their camera phones at celebrities like lighters at an '80s arena rock concert.
At the TAO Vegas hospitality suites at the Venetian, stars like Ashanti (pictured above) were able to load up on celeb perks like swag and goodies from Express, Disney Couture, Kenneth Cole Fragrance, Luxotica Eyewear, Treesje handbags, Oceanaut watches, Keratase, WOW Creations and Luxury Air Jets.
Not all the stars want the treatment, though. Most celebs were hanging out and having a good time like Pharrell (pictured), but singer Robin Thicke refused swag gifts by saying, "Please give it to someone that needs it." Some people are so heavy.

Despite bad weather and delayed flights across the country, all 52 Miss America 2007 contestants finally made it into Vegas tonight and Luxe Life has exclusive First Look photos. Each beauty was given an official welcome by our merry Mayor of Mirth, Oscar Goodman and Mike Mecca, the President of the Aladdin/Planet Hollywood resort and presented with a single-stem red rose.

Everybody from pageant organizers to admiring fans and even former Miss New Jersey beauty queen winner Lynn Weidner, chairman of the Vegas Committee, all agreed, "This is the youngest, prettiest group of girls Miss America has featured in many years. They are gorgeous girls with movie-star appeal. If this is how they get off the plane after long exhausting flights, imagine how glamorous they will look on the big night!"

t's the second consecutive year that the Miss America pageant is being held in Las Vegas after an 86 year-run in Atlantic City. Once the gorgeous girls were presented to Vegas VIPs, they tried to combat all-day flights without meals by combining a buffet-snack with press interviews including their first with me and another with the Carlos Diaz and the EXTRA TV crew.

For the next 10 days, they face a gruelling schedule: tomorrow they are at the Fashion Show Mall and then in between rehearsals, wardrobe fittings and intense grilling by the judges they will do a fun photo shoot Monday evening in the gondolas at The Venetian. Wednesday, their preliminaries get underway for the live broadcast finale hosted by 'Dancing with the Stars' hero Mario Lopez on Monday, Jan. 29.
Luxe Life will travel with them each day of their Vegas stay for all their activities- plus the behind the scenes secrets and preparations so log on everyday all next week.

Instead of writing an op/ed piece about monuments and progress, I decided to offer tribute with these haikus inspired by photos I snapped during the Stardust's last weekend of business.
The first one wrote itself, well at least 41% of itself:

I spent my first week in Vegas as a resident searching for bartenders with "good personalities" for America's Hottest Bartenders. Tough job, I know.
Some of the most beautiful people in the world (like the gorgeous Nicole from Seamless Afterhours pictured above) call Vegas home so I was sure, willing to wager even, that the national winner would be coming from Vegas. With each photo shoot that week, the girls and boys got sexier and my, uh, confidence kept growing.
There ain't no party like a Vegas party and these highly-attractive professionals do their part to make sure the 800,000 weekly Vegas visitors have something to write home about, or if more appropriate, not write home about.
America Voted
The week was a blur of photo shoots, release forms and valet parking. Once finished, I shipped the pics off to AOL headquarters where the folks at corporate chose the photos and published the feature. It was then that, to use a popular catch-phrase, "America voted."
Lynette (pictured here) from Tabu won the Vegas title for the ladies, but sadly there is no justice in the world and she lost to someone in Chicago. Could it be another conspiracy of Chicago politics? I'm not suggesting it's on the same level as Daley bulldozing Meigs, but how else to explain Lynette losing? I'll have to re-read "American Pharoah" for clues.
With the gentlemen tenders, Tom from VooDoo was the sexiest bartender in Vegas with those piercing, dreamy, edible eyes, but again, lost out ...
